AI Agent Integration

OpenBits is built for AI agents. Point your agent at a single URL and it can discover every available API, search for endpoints, and make authenticated calls — no SDK required.

Quick start

Give your agent this URL:

https://api.openbits.ai/llms.txt

The agent reads the endpoint index, picks the right API, and calls it with your API key in the X-API-Key header. Credits are deducted per call and refunded on server errors.

Discovery endpoints

All discovery endpoints are unauthenticated and return plain text or JSON.

Endpoint	Purpose
`/llms.txt`	Endpoint index with descriptions and credit costs — start here
`/llms-full.txt`	Complete reference with all parameters inlined (for large-context models)
`/skill.md`	Bootstrap skill with CLI auth instructions and API overview
`/search?q=...`	Search endpoints by keyword
`/describe/:slug`	Full API description for a specific connector
`/skills`	List all available skill slugs
`/skills/:slug`	Detailed markdown for a specific API

How agents use it

1. Agent fetches /llms.txt
   → Learns about available APIs: Twitter, Wallet, Echo

2. Agent calls /search?q=user+profile
   → Finds: GET /twitter/v1/users/by/username/:username (100 credits)

3. Agent makes the API call
   → GET https://api.openbits.ai/twitter/v1/users/by/username/elonmusk
      Header: X-API-Key: ob_live_YOUR_KEY

4. Agent gets structured JSON response
   → { data: { id, username, name, metrics, ... }, meta: { requestId, cached } }

Install as a CLI skill

For agents that support file-based skills (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf):

# Install a skill — saves API docs to your project

The skill markdown file is saved to your project directory. Your agent reads it for context when making API calls.

For large-context models

Models with 100k+ token context windows can ingest the full API reference in one shot:

This inlines all endpoint documentation, parameters, and examples into a single document — no follow-up fetches needed.

Authentication

Agents authenticate the same way as any HTTP client: pass the API key in the X-API-Key header.

Create API keys at Dashboard > API Keys. Each key can be scoped to personal or organization credit pools.
